Deux orgues et 200 choristes à l’église Saint-Sulpice !

Karol Mossakowski, jeune titulaire du grand orgue de Saint-Sulpice, nous offre une création pour grand orgue, orgue de chœur et 16 voix mixtes, conçue sur mesure pour les lieux.

Créée à Saint-Sulpice en 1878 sur les deux orgues Cavaillé-Coll, l’imposante Messe op. 36 de Charles-Marie Widor résonnera en écho à la création de Karol Mossakowski.

Entre ces œuvres, des motets a cappella interprétés par l’Ensemble Sequenza 9.3 mettront à l’honneur l’école française d’orgue pour un moment plus intimiste.

Le concert s’achèvera avec J.S.Bach sur un grand final en tutti.

À travers un riche répertoire pour orgue et chœurs, de Bach à la création contemporaine, ce concert fédérera plus de 200 choristes adultes et enfants pour faire sonner ensemble un monument riche d’histoire.

Two organs and 200 choristers at Saint-Sulpice Church!

Karol Mossakowski, the young titular organist of the great organ at Saint-Sulpice, offers us a creation for grand organ, choir organ, and 16 mixed voices, specially tailored to the venue.

Premiered at Saint-Sulpice in 1878 on the two Cavaillé-Coll organs, the imposing Messe op. 36 by Charles-Marie Widor will resonate as an echo to Karol Mossakowski’s creation.

Between these works, a cappella motets performed by the Ensemble Sequenza 9.3 will showcase the French organ school for a more intimate experience.

The concert will conclude with J.S. Bach in a grand tutti finale.

Featuring a rich repertoire for organ and choir, from Bach to contemporary works, this concert will bring together over 200 adult and child choristers to bring to life a monument rich in history.
